Alabama’s loss was our gain as Cowboy Church of Tarrant County welcomed our new pastor, Jimmy Roberts, and his family – wife Cierra, son Cody and daughter Gemma in 2015.

Pastor Jimmy’s life has always been one of service, to his country, his community and his church. From 2001-2008, he served in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, earning a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for Valor. Between 2011 and 2015, he served as a part-time police officer in Cherokee and Killen, Alabama. Jimmy’s service to his church includes being interim pastor for one year in Columbus, MS; pastor at Cross Brand Cowboy Church in Killen, AL; and now pastor of our own Cowboy Church of Tarrant County. Jimmy attended UNA and Alabama A&M University, and is also a licensed farrier and equine dentist, which means he serves our four-footed friends as well!

Pastor Jimmy has been riding horses since age 7, and in his spare time, he enjoys calf roping, hunting, blacksmithing and weight-lifting, and participating in ranch rodeos whenever possible. He attended Sankey Rodeo School for Bareback Riding, but Cierra won’t let him compete as she’d rather not have to tend to bruises and broken bones!

Originally from Mississippi, Cierra graduated from the University of North Alabama with a double major in General Chemistry and Professional Biology, and currently is a Senior Chemistry Technician at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose. She enjoys breakaway roping, ranch rodeo, watching American Ninja Warrior and playing basketball and softball.

Mr. Cody Roberts enjoys riding his pony, Orange, going to the park, riding his electric John Deere tractor and asking lots of questions. Those of you who have met Cody know that he never meets a stranger!

Miss Gemma Roberts enjoys eating, attacking Rooster and BigMo the dogs, playing with her brother, petting the horses, and is known by all as “the tiny dictator”.

Cody was the Pee Wee Champion at the 2nd Annual Trail Challenge in Killen, Alabama.
